Item Description

A hard to find specimen of this classic and well-known material. Everybody knows that good Proustites came out of Jachymov in the Czech Republic many years ago, but are almost impossible to find today. This piece features beautiful, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, blood red trigonal Proustite on native Arsenic matrix from this famous silver / cobalt / nickel producing locality at Jachymov. Most of the crystals are broken, but there are a few well-crystallized examples, the largest of which measures up to 4 mm. This is one of only a handful of pieces of this species that we've had to offer of this material, and comes with a classic label from Czech mineral specialist, Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value.
