This material comes from the same locality at the new botryoidal Amethyst (sometimes called "Grape Amethyst" or "Grape Chalcedony") This material ranges in color from a soft silvery-lavender to a rich purple hue. Chalcedony is essentially uncrystallized Quartz and occurs in a wide variety of colors. This piece is a lovely soft purple color gem, which has been artfully carved into a beautiful leaf. The piece has excellent internal translucency when backlit. You don't see many Chalcedony carvings on the market like this, so don't miss out on this one.
