Pyrargyrite on Quartz

Item Description

A very nice "hand sized" display specimen of Pyrargyrite featuring a pair of "rabbit ear"-shaped crystals of metallic, very dark silvery-red color, lustrous prisms which are sitting on a crystallized plate of white/grey Quartz crystals with small stacked whitish-yellow color rhombohedral crystal groups of Calcite. The largest Pyrargyrite measures 7 mm long, and is virtually undamaged. The second Pyrargyrite crystal is contacted, but shows deep red color when backlit. A good small cabinet piece of this classic material from Gaunajuato although the exact mine is not known.
