Item Description

The classic Pyrites from Navajun are one of the most recognizable minerals in the world. Although they are simple cubes, they are still highly attractive, and certainly among the finest crystallized representations of the species. This piece features a intergrown group of razor-sharp, splendent, metallic soft golden color cubes of Pyrite measuring up to 2.7 cm edge. No major damage, just a few trivial nicks, and the piece is complete all around. It's hard to find such showy three-dimensional groups like this, as most crystals from this locality are loose singles that fell out of the matrix. The piece is from a large Midwest collection that we recently acquired.
