Item Description

The Siglo XX mine is probably best known for it's phosphate species, but there are some very attractive Pyrite specimens that come out from time to time. This piece is a rather aesthetic display piece featuring dozens of sharp, lustrous, modified octahedral crystal of Pyrite on matrix. The largest crystal measures 2.3 cm across, which is good sized for the mine in my experience. The specimen is in pretty good shape, and is only one of a handful that I acquired when these pieces came out (it was mined 2007). The majority of them had such terrible damage that they wouldn't even be worth the cost of shipping to bring them back to the States. A good Pyrite specimen for a Pyrite collector or a specimen to add to a Bolivian or sulfide suite.
