Item Description

The Tasna mine is probably best known for its Ferberite specimen, but there are some very attractive Pyrite specimens that come out from time to time. This is a decent quality piece featuring a sharp, semi lustrous, slightly modified octahedral crystal of Pyrite. The specimen is in pretty good shape, and this piece is only one of a handful that I acquired when these pieces came out (it was mined in 2004). The majority of them had such terrible damage that they wouldn't even be worth the cost of shipping to bring them back to the States. The luster on this specimen is actually what I would call "directional", meaning that it's bright in one direction, but somewhat dull in another direction. A good Pyrite specimen for a Pyrite collector or a specimen to add to a Bolivian or sulfide suite.
