Item Description

A few years ago, a local digger in Colorado found some very interesting Pyrite specimens in the State Bridge area in Colorado. Typically, the specimens from this area are found in shale, but these specimens formed semi-spherical aggregates. The Pyrite crystals on the specimen are lustrous, with sharp, golden, metallic faces and beautiful cuboctahedral form. If you look at the center of the piece, I think the Pyrites have actually formed around a fossil of some kind, possibly an Ammonite, or something similar. A unique specimen to add to a Pyrite collection or a Colorado suite.
