Item Description

Here we have a classic aggregate of the Pyrite from the American Aggregates Quarry in Indianapolis. This locality is now closed, but you can still find a handful of these attractive specimens on the market from time to time. The piece is composed of many well-formed, metallic, golden colored crystals which are cuboctahedral in habit intergrown to form a flattened "ball"-like group. The largest crystal measuring up to 1.8 cm on edge. The piece is a complete "floater", crystallized all around with no significant damage. A really cool example of these wonderful old Pyrites. It should be noted that this piece is LARGER than most from the locality, and not too many were available even when the quarry was active. Priced at $950.
