Item Description

These fantastic Chinese pyrite concretions are some of the most unique and interesting specimens we have seen from any locality. This is an impressive pyrite concretion ball from recent finds. The small, sparkling, sharp, modified, metallic pyrite crystals have formed in amazingly dense concentric "rings" or "bands" on the flattened, oval sculptural shale concretion. A very cool specimen. Essentially pristine. NOTE: I bought these in 2013 and we have seen no more of quite this style for sale since early 2015 in China, so this find may be over. A fascinating 360-degree specimen of a very common species.
