Item Description

The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the world's finest pyrites and this specimen is an excellent example. Splendent, brassy-metallic pyrite pyritohedrons comprise this sculptural specimen. The large crystal is 2.9 x 2.9 cm and all of the crystals are beautifully striated. The textbook form and intense metallic color and luster are top notch. Complete all-around. The piece is contacted on one side and the back, but there is actually very little real damage, per se. Classic Huanzala material. Specimens of this quality came out in the 1970s and 80s. Ex Consie Prince Collection. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
