Complex modified isometric form and mirror-bright brassy luster characterize this striking and sharp Pyrite with sugary Quartz from the Merelani Hills, renowned for the world's finest Tanzanites and outstanding Diopside and Grossular Garnet specimens. It's in fairly good shape for the material (minor nicks here and there), but it's the interesting crystal habit along with the smooth and splendent crystal faces that make it so desirable. It's strange to think that these amazingly attractive (and sometimes very large) Pyrite specimens come from the same area as world class Tanzanites, and they should be appreciated for their uniqueness.
