Item Description

The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the world's finest pyrites and this specimen is a very fine example. Intergrown, mirror-bright, very well-striated, brassy pyritohedrons comprise this showy specimen. The striking large crystal on the top is 6.0 cm. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with on one spot of trivial periphery wear. The contacting on the base is out of sight. Excellent, classic and highly representative material from this famed locale. Ex Robert Fender Collection, dating to the pyrite heyday in the 1970s. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON, as the crystal brilliance made photography difficult.
