Item Description

A sculptural, showy and rare large combination specimen from this famed locale. Brilliant, striated, golden pyrite cubes to 2.3 cm are scattered on the massive quartz matrix. Tiny needle quartz crystals cover the piece. Clusters of rare for the locale enargite microcrystals attractively cover the pyrites and the quartz. These do not resemble sphalerite, tetrahedrite or bornite crystals from Sweet Home. We believe they are rare enargite. Bruising to the large pyrite and periphery wear are noted, but this remains a RARE and showy large combination from this renowned mine. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and purchased at the House of Stiles in Alma, Colorado in 2009. A MUST for the locality or species collector.
