Item Description

Mineral specimens of any species are RARE from this obscure locality/town on the Isle of Wight. This is sculptural hefty nodule of intergrown, limonite-coated pyrite crystals with unusual stepped-growth crystal faces. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2030 and obtained from England via collector/dealer Marion Godshaw in the early 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). VERY RARE and unusual English pyrite.
