Pyritized Brachiopod on matrix

Item Description

A beautifully symmetrical, highly arching, lustrous, 3.8 cm wide pyritized Spirifer brachiopod from the Devonian of Sylvania, Ohio is jauntily set upright on block of limestone matrix. The fossil has excellent bi-lateral symmetry and comes from a quarry west of Toledo. A fragment of another brachipod on one side adds character to this showy 360-degree piece. Dramatic and excellent fossil art.
