Item Description

The historic Black Pine MIne dates back to 1882. This former gold, silver & copper producer was the source of some beautiful secondary ore minerals, including the world's finest specimens of Veszelyite. This piece features wonderful crystals of Pyrormorphite, which I would argue are much harder to find on the market than something like Veszelyite. This thumbnail specimen hosts sharp, highly lustrous, prismatic, dark brown colored, hexagonal crystals of Pyromorphite meauring up to 3 mm sitting on gemmy, colorless, prismatic Quartz crystals. The Pyromorphites are best viewed under magnification, and they are excellent quality for the locality. If you collect Montana minerals, secondary ore minerals or just worldwide thumbnails, don't miss out on this hard to find specimen from this classic locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10918). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
