Item Description

A colorful, rich and uncommon combination specimen from the famous Sterling Mine. The front is richly covered with bright burnt-orange and red zincite microcrystals contrasted with rich crusts of platy, brown to black, pyrochroite, an uncommon Mn-hydroxide. A vein of massive pastel-pink willemite is visible on the ends and bottom. The matrix is massive calcite. Neon-green willemite and neon-orange calcite fluorescence. Classic combination material from the Ted Bartels Collection and comes with a with a Gerstmann's label, well-known Franklin collectors and dealers, dating from the early 1960s to 1980.
