Pyromorphite

Daoping is renowned for its superb Pyromorphites, with this cluster well-representing this famous locality. The apple-green Pyros have very good luster, color, and form, with the largest hoppered crystal being stout but a full 1 cm across. Such hoppered forms, the result of polysynthetic crystal growth, is one of the hallmarks of many Daoping Pyromorphites, and this habit is highly coveted. Sadly, these older sections of the mine are now closed, and may never again produce such Pyromorphites of this old style, much like Les Farges green material from France. As expected, there is a little bit of wear on the piece, but the overall aesthetics are still quite good. Valued $1200-1500
