Item Description

Les Farges Mine pyromorphites are world renowned for their quality and beauty. This showy and excellent CABINET combination specimen features a rich scattering of clusters of glassy, actually gemmy, translucent, pretty apple-green pyromorphite prisms to 8 mm with oxide-coated, barite blades on a sculptural, triangular, quartz matrix crust. Several of the pyros are doubly terminated. Yes, there is some bruising, mainly to the barite blades, and some periphery wear is noted. Still, this remains an uncommonly large combination example of these species from a famous locale; and the pyromorphites are exceptionally gemmy for Les Farges. The December, 2009 issue of the French periodical, le Regne Mineral, is devoted entirely to this noted locale and is filled with photgraphs of fabulous Les Farges pyromorphites. A must for any pyromorphite collector! Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Valued $900-1200
