Item Description

A very rich and sculptural large pyromorphite and barite combination from the famous Les Farges Mine. Two generations of classic lustrous and transluent, olive-green prisms with desirable mustard-yellow tips are festooned on the barite matrix. The prisms reach about 8 mm. The bone-white to oxide-tinted barite matrix has a striking unusual aspect. It appears to be layered brecciated barite! This artistic piece has a multitude of excellent display possibilities and every turn presents a different perspective. Self-collected by Paul Zerfass # 405. This world-class pyromorphite mine was only active from 1975 to 1981.
