Pyromorphite - large stalactitic cluster

Les Farges is synonymous with world class Pyromorphite. This famous French locale has produced some of the most iconic specimens in the collector world. This interesting specimen is just packed with hexagonal barrel shaped crystals of caramel colored Pyromorphites with a contrasting preferential dusting of acicular lime green Pyromorphite crystals. The crystals, measuring up to 9 mm in length, are stacked vertically in a partial fan spray that can be seen in more detail from the back. We call it stalactitic to describe the overall shape but in reality this probably formed as a pyromorphite cast atop another mineral, extending vertically and giving the illusion of a stalactite style of growth. In any case, however it formed, it is amazing and unique - and big! The piece is in great condition with most crystals being complete. Just a great example of the high quality Pyromorphites from Les Farges with an added sparkling green "pop". Ex. Paul Zerfass Collection (#33, and collected in the 1970s).
