Item Description

Velvet malachite covers much of the sculptural hefty, nearly solid pyromorphite crust on this showy and excellent combination from the 1970s finds at this famous small Pb-Cu-Co-Ni-Zn deposit. The tiny spherical aggregates of lustrous and translucent yellow pyromorphite crystals look just like famous campylite mimetite crystals from the famous, old mines at Caldbeck Fells in England, upon close examination! The 1.8 cm reticulated cerussite is a fine accent. Fascinating, and a hard to get material. This is an extremely good combination specimen for the locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 13204. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
