Item Description

Old-time pyromorphite specimens from this classic Erzgebirge locale are seldom on the market. This extremely rich, rare and showy combination specimen has the lattice-work matrix totally covered with lustrous, translucent, apple-green prisms. The hexagonal crystals sparkle in bright light. Rare cerussite blades are visible on one edge of the piece and probably compose the latticework. The matrix is massive galena. A very rich and hefty lead ore specimen. An old label in German is attached to the back. The classic probably dates to the 1800s, but no proof. Ex Humboldt University and Mark Feinglos Collections. valued $800-1000
