Item Description

A VERY RARE pyromorphite from a most obscure small abandoned Pb-Zn-Cu prospect on a very large Australian cattle ranch. Artistic sprays of lustrous, translucent green and brown hexagonal prisms, to about 4 mm, are aesthetically set in a 1.7 cm vug on the top of the sculptural gossan matrix. A perhaps UNIQUE specimen, as MINDAT features no specimens of ANY species in the photo gallery for this locale. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12819. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
