Item Description

Pyromorphite specimens are very uncommon and are seldom on the market from this long abandoned lead-zinc mine near Zeehan. Sprays of lustrous olive-green to matte-brown acicular to prismatic crystals richly invest the vuggy lightweight gossan matrix on this rich, showy and rare example from the Kay Robertson Collection # 6992. Some of the larger prismatic brown crystals are hollow. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
