Pyromorphite w/ Galena (RARE) Zerfass Coll.

Item Description

A RARE, rich and showy large pyromorphite combination from the renowned Les Farges Mine. Sharp, moderately lustrous, textbook, hexagonal, olive-green prisms, to 6 mm, richly and dramatically cover the mounded crest of the large massive quartz matrix wedge. Many of the crystals have hoppered terminations, adding character. A major surprise on the bottom of the piece is a VERY RARE for the locale, 1.8 cm, pod of corroded galena. This famous mine closed in 1981. Excellent and RARE large combination material self-collected by Paul Zerfass # 917. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
