Item Description

These now classic Pyromorphite specimens were found in the mid 1990s and disappeared from the market almost immediately. They are seldom seen on the market, and are certainly sought after by collectors today. This piece is a gorgeous aesthetic thumbnail specimen consisting of a large (for the locality), sharp, lustrous, prismatic hexagonal crystal of rich golden-brown Pyromorphite sitting on a doubly-terminated Pyromorphite of equal color and quality with minor associated Quartz. The piece has excellent form and with the exception of a contact on the left of the main crystal, it's virtually undamaged. A great thumbnail of this wonderful material from Bulgaria. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12930). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
