Item Description

From the type locality for Pyrophyllite, here we have an attractive large miniature / small cabinet specimen featuring thin, prismatic, golden to blue-green colored crystals forming radial "sprays" with Quartz matrix. This material is exceptionally rare on the market, and certainly worth picking up if you collect minerals from the type locality. It's worth noting that a lot of the Pyrophyllite in the world is found in less than desirable / dull colors, and this rich blue-green material from the Pyshminskoe deposit is very desirable in terms of color. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10324). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
