Item Description

A RARE and striking two-sided pseudomorph combination specimen from the famous Valenciana Mine at Guanajuato. Pyrite is VERY RARE from Guanajuato. Calcite has replaced sharp pyrite cubes. The imposing two crystal cluster is 3.2 cm across. Other broken pseudos reveal, these are hollow epimorphs after the pyrite cubes. The matrix is classic adularia variety valencianite richly peppered with sprays of glassy quartz points. An edge, side and bottom are covered with unusual quartz casts of large calcite rhombs? that are filled with bubbly botryoidal chalcedony (also rare from here). Certainly a strange, fascinating and RARE pseudomorph combination from the Joe Lobell Collection of Oklahoma.
