Item Description

These specimens are some of the most classic Quartz pseudomorphs or "casts" from any world locality. With that said, this specimen is a great example showing the perfect octahedral form of the previous Fluorite crystals along with the thin tabular form of the Anhydrite crystal which were replaced coated by small, almost "sugary", translucent, white Quartz crystals. The Fluorite and Anhydrite crystals were then dissolved away by a solution that entered the pocket at a later date, leaving behind only the Quartz crystal "crust". A wonderful specimen from a district that produced some of the most classic "casts" from all of Colorado.
