Item Description

Mineral specimens of any species are RARE from obscure Reeves County, West Texas. MINDAT lists only a couple of localities and two photos. Chalcedony pseudomorphs after sharp dogtooth calcite crystals are known, but pieces of this quality are VERY RARE. This is a very aesthetic cluster of sharp, translucent brown chalcedony with variably frosted faces. RARE, old-time material from the Kay Robertson Collection # 855 and acquired from Scott Williams in 1958 at the San Bernardino Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A MUST for the Texas or species collector!
