Item Description

An old-time, sculptural, LARGE CABINET, combination specimen from the famous El Cobre Mine. Iron oxide-coated quartz crystals to 2.5 cm are richly and attractively scattered on the 3-dimensional, vuggy, sintered-looking gossan matrix. Sharp, tetragonal, dark gray, corroded, chalcopyrite crystals and cute clusters of bright green, primary malachite botryoids are outstanding compliments. An old cloth label is glued to the back of the piece. The bit of periphery wear is very minimal detraction to this historic, seldom available combination material. Ex Mullane Collection.
