Quartz is one of the most abundant species on the Earth, found in a wide number of environments with what has to be the most diverse styles, varieties and habits of any mineral species. With that said, some of the most treasured, well-known and fine quality examples of colorless gem quality Quartz are those from various localities in Arkansas. Mt. Ida is one of the better known places for fine crystals, and this piece is a very nice example featuring many razor-sharp, highly lustrous, GEM QUALITY, colorless hexagonal prisms measuring up to 4.5 cm long, sitting on thin layer of matrix. The piece is nearly pristine, but I can see a few tiny imperfections in a couple spots. It displays beautifully and looks great from several angles.
