Quartz ex Meieran collection

Quite simply, this is just a very beautiful example of Arkansas quartz, 360 degrees and geometric in form as a cluster. This is one of the older fine specimens in the Gene Meieran collection, from around the time 50 years ago when Gene started collecting higher levels of material and getting into the gem species more seriously, with a label from his Los Altos Hills residence, near L.A, dating to his early days at the foundation of what is now Intel. Think about that - it survived in the collection all this time without being culled out, simply because even though it is "just" an Arkansas quartz, and was clearly an early purchase, it is fine enough and sharp enough to hold its own sitting next to million dollar gem crystal specimens on a shelf in one of the greatest collections of gem crystals ever assembled! This is simply beautiful, and a good mineral specimen valued $2500.
