Item Description

Quartz is almost the most diverse collector's species in the world as it is found in a wide array of colors, styles and habits. When it comes to some of the most distinctive Quartz specimens, a lot of people mention the famous "Faden" groups found in Alpine and "Alpine-type" deposits around the world. This attractive small cabinet exhibits the classic "Faden" (German word for string) form with a very striking "Faden" that runs through the superb, sharp, highly lustrous, colorless, GEM quality crystals creating a very three-dimensional overall piece. Nearly all of the crystals are undamaged, but you can see a few small imperfections here and there. I love how aesthetic it is, as you can display it from several angels. Some crystals are nearly water clear which allows you to look straight through them to see the "Faden" in the center. This quality is certainly equal to the true Alpine "Fadens" from Europe. I have seen these Pakistani pieces dry up in recent years, and I personally think they are highly underappreciated for what they are.
