Item Description

For years, we've seen a good number of high quality Quartz crystals coming out of Nepal. What makes them more alluring is the fact that they were found in an "Alpine"-type deposit over 12,000 feet above sea level. The majority of these specimens are either single crystals are clusters of individual intergrown prisms, but the most sought after habit from the Gunyahang Mine is the iconic "Japan"-law twin! This specimen is one of the very few "Japan"-law twins that we've had to offer from this locality, and it's a complete "floater" to boot! The prominent twin sitting atop the specimen measures 5.0 cm across and features a pair of WATER CLEAR, razor-sharp, lustrous colorless tabular hexagonal crystals associated with dozens of small thin prismatic Quartz crystals at the base. If you look at the underside of the specimen, you can see it's fully crystallized, with a small spot that was obviously connected at one point to the pocket wall, but was detached and recrystallized ("re-healed") itself. I see no major damage anywhere, and just look at how showy and aesthetic this piece is! A must have specimen for any fan of Quartz, "Alpine"-type minerals or collectors of twinned crystals. Valued HIGHLY in our inventory for the superior quality and rare locality.
