Surreal, rare style large combination pseudomorph from the historic mines at Cavnic. Two generations of quartz after calcite crystals are dramatically set on the sculptural tapered quartz point matrix plate. Aesthetically clustered fantastic, sparkly, knobby, tan, cauliflower-head shaped pseudos are flanked by starkly different, smaller, creamy, wheatsheaf-shaped pseudos. Amazingly, one of the larger pseudos on the side reveals, that it is an epimorph, a hollow cast after the calcite crystal cluster. Cavnic is renowned for a myriad of both calcite and quartz styles, habits and combinations. BUT, this striking large pseudomorph combination is exceptional in its form and aesthetics.
