Item Description

An utterly fascinating, amazingly sculptural and extremely rare combination from Mount Malosa. Pyrochlore Group specimens are rare from here. A SUPER RARE pseudomorph of quartz points after a sharp 2.1 cm octahedron is dramatically set on the small cabinet intergrown cluster of lustrous dark green aegirine crystals highlighted by the fantastic 2.4 cm single crystal with a "T" tip projecting outward from the intergrown cluster. Ex Francesco Bedogne Collection # 2011. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Read his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=118. A superb, extremely rare and aesthetic example of the combination species.
