Item Description

A striking quartz and pyrite combination from the famous mines of the Huaron District. Water-clear, lightly frosted, tapered quartz prisms of all sizes dramatically cover the mounded matrix and are beautifully complimented by the scattered clusters of mirror-bright, brass-yellow, pyrite cubes. The matrix underneath is sphalerite. Every rotation of the beautiful hedgehog of slender quartz points to 3.7 cm presents a different perspective. The balance and aesthetics are excellent and there are very few broken quartz crystals, for such dense coverage. Pieces of this exceptional quality came out in the mid-1980s. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock, who priced this excellent piece at $200 at least five years ago, or more probably longer. A must for the quartz or locality collector. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!
