Item Description

This piece came to us labeled as coming from "Purple Cow Ledge" in Quartzsite, Arizona. I've never heard of the locale, and I can't find a listing for it online. I trust the source for the info, so I believe it's legit, especially since I've seen similar specimens from the Veta Grande Mine near Quartzsite. There are countless Quartz localities in Arizona, but "Faden" specimens like this are extremely limited. I've only seen a few "Faden" Quartz specimens from Arizona, and all of them were from around Quartzsite. This specimen shows the classic "Faden" (German word for string) form with a noteworthy vertical line that runs through the length of the sharp, lustrous, colorless, gemmy, parallel growth crystals to create this beautiful display specimen. Most of the crystals are in very good shape, but some of the terminations on the upper right side of the piece are broken. More than worthwhile for any collector to add to their collection. A must have specimen for any fan of Quartz or minerals of Arizona.
