Item Description

Two intergrown clusters of radiating glassy, translucent quartz crystals with satin lustre form a wonderful and dramatic 360-degree pineapple from the famous mines of the Pachapaqui District. The impressive stout crystals reach about 3.5 cm on this very artistic piece. A sharp 6 mm tetrahedrite on one side is a nice accessory. The underlying matrix is tetrahedrite, chalcopyrite and sphalerite. Pachapaqui is noted for fine manganoan calcite, tetrahedrite, bournonite and rhodochrosite specimens. Essentially pristine. It's hard to see the one broken quartz crystal topside. Quartz specimens of this excellent quality are far less common. Choice material from the Consie Prince Collection.
