Item Description

This piece is labeled as coming from Jawa Tengah, which is the Indonesian name for Central Java. Additionally, although the specimen is labeled as Agate, these pieces are actually Chalcedony, though both are varieties of Quartz. This piece is a lovely sculptural, columnar group of rich golden to brown colored Chalcedony. If you look at the base of the specimen, you can see four individual open holes, but they taper off towards the top, leaving only a single spire. You might see these pieces labeled as fossil replacing either coral or bamboo, but I haven't seen any concrete evidence to support this claim. The piece is in very good shape, with no major damage, and displays nicely from either side.
