Item Description

Quartz and chalcedony pseudomorphs after fluorite octahedrons are an old-time classic from this famous old Cornwall lead and silver mine, that was active from 1843-1875 (MINDAT). A sharp, 1.9 cm, well-placed pseudo of chalcedony coating the quartz core is the focal point of this excellent piece. The smaller pseudos show, that the partially exposed quartz pseudos have a nubby chalcedony coating, which also coats the massive quartz matrix. Classic and highly representative old-time material from this noted mine.
