Item Description

Quartz is a highly varied species, found in countless world localities in a myriad of crystal habits/styles. Some of the most distinctive examples of the famous "Herkimer Style" crystals from upstate New York. This particular piece is from the Treasure Mountain Diamond Mine in Little Falls, and is one of the VERY few MATRIX examples we've had to offer. A pristine, GEM QUALITY, colorless crystal with beautiful sharp, lustrous faces measuring 1.0 cm long, sits atop slightly smoky colored, translucent/milky Quartz matrix, to create a very showy and desirable thumbnail.
From the collection of David E Ziga, a geologist who graduated Miami (of Ohio) University in 2017, with a mineralogy background. Specimen #121.
