Quartz var: Smoky with Covellite inclusions (pink flash)

Item Description

A beautiful "Pear Cabochon" gem of what is commercially referred to as "Pink Fire Quartz". These stones are only found in Brazil and feature light colored Smoky Quartz which feature metallic inclusions of the copper sulfide, Covellite. The iridescent nature of the Covellite creates unique reflection on the surface of the Quartz when it's polish, showing an intense pink hue, hence the name "Pink Fire Quartz". We've only seen a handful of these in recent years, and they are quite beautiful and distinctive. A really interesting and unusual stone for any Quartz fans or collectors of "inclusion" gems.
