Item Description

An impressive and sculptural large 360-degree quartz combination from 8th Level finds at the famous San Antonio Mine 7 or 8 years ago. A striking parallel-growth diverging spray of blue-gray, glassy, translucent terminated quartz crystals are dramatically preferentially coated with siderite pseudomorphs after dogtooth calcite crystals. Complete all-around and in great shape. The upper quartzs are pristine and few broken points at the base have minimal impact to the overall high quality of the specimen. Photos of the piece were sent to respected Santa Eulalia author and Mexico expert, Dr. Peter Megaw, for his review. Peter confirmed the mineralogy and that the pseudos have been analysed for confirmation. He indicated this fascinating large quartz and pseudomorph combination is in the top 10% of the find. Choice, highly unusual material.
