Item Description

A large, very aesthetic quartz crystal from the well-known sandstone deposits near Corinto, Brazil. The highly lustrous crystals have very sharp, water-clear terminations above the translucent basal areas. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only trivial termination wear to the large crystal, modest periphery wear and some basal contacting, with no damage, per se. These crystals look in appearance to those produced from the sandstones in the Hot Springs area of Arkansas. Classic and excellent Brazilian quartz. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
