Quartz with Amethyst

A very sculptural "corsage" of radiating transparent, glassy quartz crystals is beautifully set on the matrix plate. The imposing, dominating large quartz is 5.5 cm long and is enhanced by the offset steep termination with a skeletal feature, and underlying clay inclusion - plus air bubbles! The secondary quartz crystal, about 3.3 cm long, also has air bubbles visible within. Most of the prisms have faint blush-purple amethyst hues in the terminations adding character and interest. Broken crystals noted at the center of the spray are minimally detracting. Most of the famous quartz specimens from the basalts of the Goboboseb Mountains are predominately amethyst or smoky quartz, so this is an excellent, very uncommon and aesthetic example of mostly colorless quartz.
