Item Description

A classic and really showy display piece of this classic association from one of the most well known mining districts in England. Several very sharp and lustrous, gemmy to translucent, very slightly smoky color Quartz crystals with the well-known doubly-termianted bi-pyramidal habit are associated with brilliant metallic silvery Hematite (variety "Specularite") "rosettes" and a layer soft pink rhombs of Dolomite (mistakenly labeled as Calcite). The largest Quartz crystal measures 1.1 cm. Hard to find on the market today, especially in such good condition with excellent displayability. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1418). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous locale.
