Item Description

Spessartine garnets to 1 cm preferentially hang onto the exterior of this quartz cluster, from the Shengus deposits in Pakistan. The resulting combination is really cute, with a contrast of form and symmetry between the two species. The quartz looks complete from the front but we should note a slight shallow cleave on the back of the right termination. While not a fancy or particularly highly valuable piece, it is just an interesting combination. Why should the garnets be in one face, just there, and not sprinkled uniformly all over? From the Gene Meieran collection.
